About the Walk for Recovery:

On September 29, 2018, Oregon Recovers organized the inaugural Walk for Recovery in Portland as part of an effort to build an individual donor list and raise funds to support our statewide advocacy and public education campaigns. The event was a major fundraising and community building success and this year we are replicating the event in Bend (Saturday, September 7th),  Medford (Friday, September 13th), Eugene (Saturday, September 14th), and again in Portland (Saturday, September 28th).

Responsibilities:

As our local Walk Consultant you will be responsible for sponsorship solicitation, event logistics, local marketing and communications, volunteer management, and community relations. Duties include:

·         Securing $12,000 in sponsorship from local businesses

·         Recruiting 10 corporate “walk teams”

·         Securing event sound and stage equipment

·         Managing the event with a team of volunteers

Requirements:

A demonstrated ability to solicit corporate sponsorships and extensive experience in event management and/or large-scale fundraising events is required.  Communications, community relations, volunteer management and nonprofit development experience is a plus.

About Oregon Recovers:

Founded in September, 2017, Oregon Recovers is a coalition of people in recovery, the people who love us (our friends and family), and the people who take care of us (folks working on the front lines of the addiction crisis) uniting to transform Oregon’s fractured and incomplete addiction recovery healthcare system into a comprehensive, recovery-based continuum of care that recognizes addiction as a chronic disease that requires at least five years of attention.
